Manage overall business operations and ensure the effective execution of labour management, productivity, quality control, and safety standards across the Operations Department. Oversee end-to-end operational performance while ensuring compliance with company policies, financial controls, and regulatory requirements. Act as a key company representative for operational, financial, and compliance matters, driving continuous improvement across systems, processes, and reporting structures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, manage, and develop cross-functional teams, including operations staff and a team of bookkeepers, ensuring high performance, accountability, and alignment with business goals
• Oversee bookkeeping operations including daily bank and account reconciliations, maintenance of accurate financial records, and end-to-end transaction monitoring
• Prepare and maintain chart of accounts, ensuring proper financial structure and consistency across all reporting entities
• Support BAS preparation, compliance reporting, and coordination with external accountants or tax advisors
• Review, verify, and approve financial entries, operational invoices, and vendor payments to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Manage monthly financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of operational and financial data
• Develop, implement, and refine financial and operational systems including budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking
• Monitor operational budgets, analyse variances, and recommend corrective actions to improve financial performance
• Supervise department managers, supervisors, and bookkeepers through structured performance management, coaching, and review processes
• Design and improve workflows for operations, bookkeeping, procurement, inventory, and reporting systems
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and external regulatory requirements
• Manage vendor relationships, including pricing agreements, service levels, reconciliations, and contract compliance
• Serve as the primary escalation point for operational and financial issues, ensuring timely resolution and risk mitigation
• Collaborate with senior leadership to implement strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and financial controls
• Provide clear reporting and insights on operational and financial performance to support executive decision-making
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across both operations and finance functions
• Ensure a safe, compliant, and well-structured working environment across all operational areas
