Hi, I’m Mary Kyla, a bookkeeper and accounting VA specializing in full-cycle bookkeeping and compliance support for Australian accounting firms.
For the past year, I’ve been working fully independently and remotely for a South Australian firm, managing 10+ client entities at once, Pty Ltds, family trusts, medical hubs, and personal accounts. My work includes BAS and IAS preparation, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, month-end and quarter-end close, financial reporting, and coordinating with external accountants, all in Xero.
What makes me different: I’ve built custom AI workflows using Claude and ChatGPT that cut reporting time from 1–2 hours down to 20–30 minutes. I don’t just use tools; I build systems around them. I also caught 3 months of duplicated transactions that the firm’s own AI tools missed. I’m the kind of person who fixes things before being asked.
I’m a soon-to-be CMA with a BS in Accounting Information Systems from the University of Santo Tomas. I also hold certifications in Business Intelligence and Data-Driven Decision Making.
I’m looking for a long-term, full-time remote role with an Australian firm, somewhere I can genuinely contribute and grow, not just complete tasks.
