Hi I’m JC, an enthusiastic builder who loves ML, cloud architecture, all things dev, and participating in hackathons. Currently working in FinTech as a Lead Software Engineer at GCash (the #1 Finance Super App and first $5B FinTech Unicorn in PH).
At GCash, I'm working on backend microservices and internal developer tools that support a massive ecosystem of 94 million+ users. My recent focus includes developing Springboot backend microservices, Spotify Backstage frontend plugins, CI/CD pipelines, orchestration with Kubernetes and ensuring high-concurrency performance using k6.
I’m also doing ML research on forest fire detection using YOLOv12 with Mapúa University in collaboration with Arizona State University and Cintana Alliance Network. On the side, I enjoy teaching, giving tech talks, and sharing what I learn.
Finally, a lifelong learner who's currently pursuing Master of Science in AI at UT Austin, I have built everything from Full Stack Web Applications, Backend Microservices, trained Machine Learning models for helmet detection, stock prediction, sentiment analysis, and I always try to automate stuff that I’m lazy of doing manually.
