I'm a DevOps and platform engineer based in the Philippines, running production Kubernetes across multiple environments — both self-managed clusters on OpenStack/Magnum and EKS on AWS, among others. My day-to-day lives in large multi-namespace clusters with 70+ Helm releases per namespace, all built on a small set of generic chart templates.
I work across a range of AWS services and provision infrastructure as code with Terraform. I specialize in live production incident response and root-cause work — I've resolved OOM crash loops, a Postgres CPU saturation event that cascaded cluster-wide, a Service selector typo behind a 184-day silent outage, and a 7-week pipeline outage caused by a TLS cert chain failure. I tend to build tooling around the problems I hit, like a Python drift-detection script (comparing Helm manifests against live cluster state) and an automated crash-reporting pipeline posting to Microsoft Teams.
I also build with Claude — authoring custom skills and agentic loops to automate my workflows. I care about understanding systems deeply and codifying fixes so problems stay fixed rather than regress. Alongside the infrastructure work, I run a sales and inventory business — for which I built a desktop management and tinker with hardware/IoT projects like an ESP8266-based.
I'm currently studying for the Claude Certified Architect – Foundations certification and exploring Forward Deployed Engineer roles.
