As a production planning and inventory control manager, you'll likely utilize various software tools for inventory management, production scheduling, data analysis, and communication. Being computer literate ensures you can effectively navigate and utilize these tools to perform your duties efficiently. Since the position is new within the company, I took the initiative to establish numerous tools that could benefit departments across the organization. Initially, I implemented monitoring using Google Sheets, incorporating metrics such as sales serving rate, inventory levels of supplies and raw materials, sales demand forecasting, and material yield in production. These initiatives aimed to streamline processes and enhance data visibility, enabling more informed decision-making throughout the organization.
With numerous tasks to manage, such as scheduling production runs, coordinating with suppliers, and overseeing inventory levels, strong organizational skills are essential. This skill enables you to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain order within workflows. Data analysis is central to optimizing production processes and inventory management. Proficiency in data analysis enables you to interpret inventory data, identify trends, forecast demand, and make data-driven decisions to improve efficiency and reduce costs. As a PPIC Manager, you have to deal with many bottlenecks, and through that, you may be able to create a new system or solution for them. Bottlenecks don't make your life harder; they make you become smarter.
