I manages the cost of construction projects. My duties include determining client needs, calculating costs and timelines, monitoring construction progress, analyzing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, as well as building relationships with clients and site managers. Quantity surveyors work in the construction and civil engineering sector, and play an essential role in ensuring regulations and building standards are adhered to.
