HIPAA Trained Medical Virtual Assistant | Trained in Charge Entry, Claims Submission, Data Gathering, A/R Follow-up, Payment Posting & Denial Management | Trained in EMR/EHR Tools: Tebra, DrChrono & Athena Health
Hi, I’m -----------, and I’m excited to apply for the Medical Virtual Assistant position. I bring 3 years of experience as a Customer Service Representative in Netflix and nearly 3 years as a HIPAA-trained Medical Insurance Representative for Providers, supporting both UnitedHealthcare Commercial and Medicare plans in a BPO setup.
In my recent role, I am skilled in providing comprehensive and accurate information on members’ benefits and eligibility, checking authorization requirements and status, creating authorizations, explaining peer-to-peer options and appeal rights. I also help analyze claim statuses and denial reasons—clarifying whether a claim was received, rejected, denied, paid, processed correctly, recouped, or not on file. If reconsideration is needed, an appeal may be submitted for the claim. This has given me a strong understanding of U.S. insurance workflows.
To expand my skills, I enrolled in and successfully completed a one-month medical billing training and internship. During this time, I gained hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Tebra, DrChrono, and AthenaHealth. Within a month, I performed tasks including data entry, claim submission, AR follow-up, denial management, and payment posting. This training broadened my understanding of billing workflows and strengthened my practical knowledge in US insurance coordination and documentation.
With a professional work ethic, a positive mindset, and a proactive attitude, I’m ready to leverage my expertise to drive success and elevate your company’s performance. Thank you for considering my application.
