I am Revneil Ajohn Rivera, you can call me John , I have graduated at Techonological Institute of the Philippines as BS Computer Science in 2011 .
i have been in the IT industry for over 10 years. My First Job/ Role was a IT Operations in the Bank of the Philippine Islands, my role is to maintain and monitor the day to day operations and system of online banking. I used to handle tools like Lotus Notes ticketing system (ITSM) where we create a ticket for the issue / errors we encountered. We also have Knowledge Base where we store all the procedures of every errors here just in case we encounter it again, we have a database that we can use to search the problem and workaround needed for the specific error. I also handles Service Request , where it is requested by the application team, to run a specific script or bat file that can make a change to the specific application with the approvals of the heads.I have been in the bank for almost 2 years. After 2 years in the bank, i worked as a system operations specialist at IBM for 5-6 yrs, same job role and tasks because our client here is also a bank in the philippines.
In 2019, I have d----------- to shift career from operations specialist to IT Storage Engineer at IBM where i learn the SAN/ NAS storage. i have studied it and watch different youtube videos for me to be familiarize with the job. as a new or entry level storage engineer i used to perform daily healthchecks and make sure that storage status are all green .i have also learn to create a Chang request in Maximo and raise a hardware request to storage vendor whenever there are Hardware failures. I also go onsite to data center to assist the vendor such as Dell EMC when they are performing replacement of hardware, i have also learn how to do LUN expansion, allocation and zoning in my time at IBM.
Now i use to train fresh grads and teach them on IT storage and backup , and we handles Dell EMC storages.
