It takes guts to start from scratch. Yes, it’s possible. It just isn't easy.
I heard once a long time ago that the average person makes a complete career shift about three times in a lifetime. I have a hunch that in modern times, it may be more than that. So, the idea of starting from scratch is more common than having kids. That said, I imagine that it is much more difficult later in life than when one is young. Job hopping, career hopping, and testing new interests are commonplace for those under the age of 30. But once your life stabilizes, and a family is started, the idea of starting from scratch could be very, very scary.
Still, I am here. Praying for employment.
