Hello! I am Lorry, and I am a beginner remote worker. I am based in Laguna, Philippines (that is about 2 hours from Manila), where for the past 10 years I have worked in the Manufacturing industry. I have always been a hard worker, and I thought it was the only way I could secure the future with my daughter. But after being laid off during the pandemic, I discovered that I can make use of my knowledge, skills, and experience to work online and provide for my family. I started as a consultant working on assisting small and medium enterprise owners to meet documentation and requirements that were shifted online due to the pandemic, I was also preparing documentations such as SOPs, Risk analysis, and Risk Control plans, Forms and other documents that were immediately needed for businesses to cope with the pandemic requirements. After the Pandemic, I went back to the manufacturing floor but felt that physically it was draining for someone who has been doing quality checks in-line and in the laboratory, so I resigned and took that risk of pivoting into Remote work. Fortunately, I found a BPO company that required my background and experience to support a Food Company based in the EU. I have been working remotely since they hired me in 2023 and found myself growing, learning new skills, and most of all, at this stage, I am understanding myself more. I have found my learning pattern, my working habits, and finally, managing my time and emotions better. I am thankful for the changes remote work has made in my career. Now, I am seeking other opportunities and be able to help someone using the skills that I have. I may be new as a VA or as a Technical writer, but I can learn fast and well. I am capable of managing multiple tasks and committed. I will be there when you need me, I will complete the task on time and with quality, and be that person you can trust who will be able to help you and ease your worries.
