1. Oversees the compliance of safety standards and protocol by all personnel under his division.
2. Direct and supervises Area Engineers for their weekly activities guaranteeing that safety, reliability, power quality, and safety area prioritized and observed.
3. Monitor and check that the weekly scheduled activities are accomplished and complied by the Area Engineers on their respective areas.
4. Assist Area Engineers in decision making in the occurrence of line trouble and other related i----------- and situation in order to immediately restore the supply of power on their respective areas.
5. Assign, delegate, and supervise augment crews to areas for the implementation of large-scale distribution line projects and distribution line activities.
6. Ensure that the Projects and Activities of the Technical Services Department (TSD) based on the yearly Cash Operating Budget (COB) are completed and accomplished in accordance with the standard specifications set by the NEA Engineering Bulletin.
7. Supervises distribution line work related projects and activities in all areas such as:
a. Construction and/or extension of new primary and secondary distribution lines
b. System reliability activities such as Clearing of line obstruction and vegetations that may cause power outages by ensuring that the standards set by RA11361 are observed and reconductoring of existing bare conductors with Tree-wire conductors.
c. System loss reduction program such as kWHr meter clustering, secondary load centering and splitting, conductor uprating, distribution transformer uprating, and conductor uprating activities.
d. Power quality activities such as reconfiguration of existing and over extended single-phase line to three phase line.
e. Prepare schedule for the periodic distribution line auditing and patrolling activities.
8. Schedule implementation of work activities related to government and/or commercial establishments energization and making sure that the time duration of execution is within the KPS standards set by NEA.
9. Prepare periodic schedule for the line auditing and maintenance of the 69kV transmission line.
10. Conducts tool box meeting before dispatch of personnel to properly relay the nature and complexity of activities designated for every crew and check that proper tools and PPEs are completed before starting work activities.
11. Conducts periodic visits on all areas to monitor and check the present status of distribution lines on said area coverage and meet with Area Engineers to discuss problems encountered on their respective areas in order to formulate the most feasible solution.
12. Prepare monthly schedule and rotation of Maintenance linemen and Station linemen.
13. Prepare notice of interruption for scheduled power interruptions and other scheduled work activities that needs power shutdown and coordinate with ISD for proper dissemination.
14. Monitor consumer complaints and requests and ensure that it given action or acted in accordance with the KPS Standards.
15. Makes himself available for a 24-hours on-call duty
16. Prepares future plans and recommendations to be approved by the TSD Manager for the upgrading of existing distribution system to improve safety, reliability, and power quality, further minimize system loss, and meet capacity requirements.
17. Submits weekly Work Activity Plan to the TSD Manager.
18. Submits monthly Accomplishment Report to the TSD Manager.
19. Ensure that the TSD ISO Procedure Manuals on Distribution system related activities are observed and followed.
20. Performs other functions and duties that may be assigned from time to time.
