I am working here in our Local Government Unit as an ICT Unit Staff for 7 years. During my first year here, internet access is limited and all transactions are done manually. Only 1 Desktop Computer is connected to the internet and there is only 1 wireless router for mobile devices. So, I proposed to the mayor that we should have a structured network infrastructure so as to have internet connection to all workstations and to have a fast and easy file and information sharing. I got a positive response from the mayor. From that day, with the help of eGOV4MD (Electronic Governance for Municipal Development) Inc., and CESO(Canadian Executive Service Organization), both NGOs, I designed our structured network infrastructure and made all workstations including the 3 clustered buildings situated quite a distance from our main building “online”. I have also helped in implementing our eBPLS (Electronic Business Permit and Licensing System), (which I administer and maintain from then to present) to automate the process of securing permits and licenses.
Here are some of my works that helped a lot in our daily routines:
• Setup and configured an Open Source Proxy Server with Content Management System to safeguard our internet access.
• Setup, installed, configured Panasonic KX-TDA100 PBX
• Wirelessly connected 4 clustered buildings for information and communication connectivity.
• Developed a simple MS Access Database for securing Motorized Tricycle Franchise
• Maintain all of our IT Equipment
