I started my solar career as a Solar Permit Designer, where I learned the backbone of electrical design—PV layouts, one-lines, interconnection methods, and NEC/utility requirements. Being part of a very small team, I quickly took on more responsibility than my title suggested. I stepped up as an unofficial QA, SME, and go-to guy for complex cases, even without being formally assigned those roles.
Over time, I developed a sharp eye for spotting design flaws, inconsistencies, and red flags that others might miss. That edge carried over into my role now as an Electrical Review Specialist and Team Lead at Our World Energy. As an Electrical Review Specialist and Team Lead at Our World Energy, I’ve reviewed thousands of designs. I lead by example—ensuring our reviews are not only NEC compliant, but installer-friendly and efficient. I collaborate with engineers, mentor junior reviewers, and optimize internal tools like the DAT Tool for speed and accuracy. Here, I lead by example, reviewing system designs for NEC compliance, safety, and utility requirements, while coaching others to do the same. I also help fine-tune our internal processes and tools like the DAT Tool to make the review flow faster and more accurate.I understand electrical design not just from a theoretical or permit standpoint—but from the practical lens of what works in the field, what passes inspection, and what makes life easier for installers and inspectors.
From CAD plans to load calcs, CT placements, and ESS tie-ins, I understand what’s on paper and what’s needed in the field. My approach is simple: designs should be clean, compliant, and practical—no fluff, no guesswork.
