Hi! I’m Jorge Jacob Toledo, a software developer and licensed engineer with a strong problem-solving background and hands-on experience building full-stack web applications.
My development background started with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js), and I’ve since expanded into modern tools such as Next.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, Git/GitHub, and AI-assisted development workflows.
I enjoy building applications that solve real problems rather than just creating tutorial projects. One of my recent projects is Element TD 2 Build Lab, a strategy and decision-support application that analyzes game data, evaluates tower combinations, models build progression, and generates wave-by-wave recommendations. The project involves complex application logic, data modeling, simulation, debugging, UI/UX design, and continuous validation against real gameplay results.
I’ve also built FitCents, a full-stack meal planning application that generates meal plans based on a user’s budget and nutritional requirements, with features such as recipe generation, grocery lists, pantry management, authentication, user roles, and database-backed APIs.
My engineering background strongly influences how I approach software development. I like breaking complicated systems into smaller problems, understanding why something fails, testing assumptions, and improving the system instead of simply patching symptoms.
I also use AI coding tools as part of my development workflow to accelerate implementation, debugging, code review, research, and iteration. I treat AI as a development tool rather than a replacement for understanding the system—I define the architecture and requirements, evaluate the generated code, test the results, and refine the implementation.
What I bring to a team:
• Problem-solving – I’m comfortable investigating unfamiliar systems and figuring out how the pieces work together.
• Initiative – I actively research, experiment, and build instead of waiting for detailed instructions.
• Ownership – I care about whether the finished product actually works, not just whether the code compiles.
• Adaptability – I transitioned from engineering into software development and continue learning new technologies as projects require them.
• AI-assisted development – I’m comfortable using modern AI coding tools to move faster while still reviewing, testing, and understanding the code being shipped.
I’m currently looking for software development opportunities where I can contribute to real products, work with an experienced team, and continue developing my skills as a full-stack/software engineer.
I’m particularly interested in web development, full-stack development, AI-assisted software development, internal tools, SaaS products, automation, and applications involving complex business or decision-making logic.
