I have been in the industry for almost 3 years. I have worked as a virtual medical assistant. I assist nurse practitioners and doctors in caring for patients during their monthly follow-up via Zoom. I create medical charts through AdvancedMD and input accurate information from the visit. I help in filling prescriptions and creating laboratory requests/orders. I also update the plan notes every visit, related to recent medical procedures or any upcoming ones. I am experienced in eligibility checking and PMP uploads. I handle outbound calls for patients regarding changes to their medications or any updates on the approval status of the applied PA for medications. As part of my tenure, I take part in the training of new hires. I am also part of the quality assurance (audit) team. This role has allowed me to develop strong communication skills and a keen attention to detail, ensuring that all processes run smoothly. Furthermore, I collaborate closely with other departments to streamline workflows and improve overall patient care. Through these collaborative efforts, I have gained valuable insights into the various aspects of healthcare operations.
