During my tenure at EY Philippines/SGV, I served as a Tax Accountant for more than two years, focusing primarily on handling our clients' Philippine Income Tax Returns for Individuals.
My role encompassed a diverse array of responsibilities, including the preparation of tax calculations for individual taxpayers' Income Tax Returns (ITR), conducting tax briefings, calculating withholding tax on compensation, and preparing various mandatory contribution payment forms.
Additionally, I was actively involved in the preparation of BIR Forms 1601-C, 1700, 2316, and 2306, as well as annualization preparation. I also played a crucial role in delivering high-quality services to our clients, providing advisory services based on their requests, and ensuring effective communication regarding the work performed, as well as billing and invoicing.
Currently, I am adding to my skill set as an Accounting Assistant in a private company operating in the stock brokerage industry. In this role, I am responsible for filing corporate taxes, including EWT, VAT, FWT, and DST. Moreover, I am actively involved in assisting with the filing of individual income tax returns for the income of some of our consultants.
Additionally, I handle a wide range of tasks, including Accounts Payable/Receivable, Data Entry/Record Keeping, Bank Reconciliation, Amortization/Depreciation, and Financial Reports.

1. Cash & Bank
• Reconcile all bank accounts
• Verify deposits and withdrawals
• Record bank charges, interest, and fees
• Ensure petty cash is counted and reconciled
2. Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Record all customer invoices and credit notes
• Match receipts with customer accounts
• Follow up on outstanding invoices / overdue payments
3. Accounts Payable (AP)
• Record all supplier bills
• Review unpaid bills and schedule payments
• Check expense claims and approvals
4. Fixed Assets
• Record new asset purchases and disposals
• Post monthly depreciation
• Review asset register for accuracy
5. Accruals & Prepayments
• Record accrued expenses (i.e.utilities)
• Post prepayments (insurance, rent, etc.)
• Reverse prior month accruals/prepayments if applicable
6. Payroll
• Reconcile payroll journal to bank payments
• Post payroll expenses and deductions
• Ensure statutory deductions (tax, social security, etc.) are recorded
7. General Ledger
• Post all journal entries
• Review trial balance for unusual entries
• Ensure suspense accounts are cleared
8. Financial Statements
• Prepare Profit & Loss statement
• Review for errors or inconsistencies
9. Compliance & Reporting
• File VAT / Tax returns
• Prepare management reports
• Backup accounting data
• Obtain management approval for final reports
