I have to be forthright. I have no experience yet working for a remote boss. However, I have enrolled in various short courses to transition to working from home. From Facebook marketing to Amazon product research to building landing pages to general va chores, etc., the whole nine yards. I have realized that studying everything makes me an expert in nothing. So I have d----------- to shift strategy. I would focus on my core strengths which are writing, design and strategizing. If hired, I am willing to train and specialize in the job that I am assigned to.
Allow me to tell you a back story to give you a glimpse of my predilection and personality. When the internet was still new, I was fascinated with websites and how they were built. I purchased a book (HTML and CSS) from a local bookstore and taught myself to code. I was successful in publishing my first website. I still remember the name: Websitebegins dot com. Later when Wordpress became popular, I transitioned into building Wordpress websites. This was the time before no-code website builders like Wix and Squarespace became the norm. I still remember using drag-and-drop tools like Thrive to build a Wordpress site. After coming home from my day job in the bank I would practice coding. I still remember the “highs”, that feeling of ultimate satisfaction every time I see my code come into being in full color and splendor on the computer screen. I did this as a hobby and because I wanted to satisfy my curiosity and challenge myself to learn new skills. Because these websites were mostly experimental and not earning, I eventually abandoned them.
After that experience, more of life happened, juggling my responsibilities as a husband, bank officer, and father of two kids. At present, as a retired young senior, I have more time to surf the internet and learn new things. I have since dabbled into online skills and apps. My latest research brought me to look at Etsy and how I could sell digital products there and potentially earn passive income. Due to my arts leaning, I was drawn into digital arts, that is, how I could sell digital wall arts as Print-On-Demand or POD in Etsy. This plunged me into the rabbit hole of ai image generation and how to cure ai images into POD-ready image files. This is something I would like to throw my self into sometime later.
But right now, there are still bills to be paid and travel dreams to be made. So I d----------- I should start earning again, and hence, job hunting. I believe I have talents to bring to the table to help an employer have a break and grow his/her business. I am adaptable, flexible, resourceful, a fast learner and a diy-er. I have a good internet connection, a recently purchased Acer (gaming) laptop and two mobile phones.
