I am a Licensed Math Teacher and Business Professional with eight years of experience teaching 9th Grade Math in a public school aligned with DepEd standards, along with extensive tutoring experience across all subjects, both in-person and online. I have supported K-11 students across the United States as an online math tutor with Pear Deck Tutor and continue to work with US-based learners online, delivering engaging lessons in Math, Science, English, and History, fully aligned with the Common Core State Standards.
I hold an undergraduate degree in Business Management, and a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education (with High Distinction), both from De La Salle University, and another graduate degree in Mathematics Education from Pacific InterContinental College. Recently, I also earned a Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (168-hour TEFL Certificate) from The TEFL Academy (UK), as well as Student Success Coach Training from Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation at Arizona State University. I have passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) and previously held a California Child Development Master Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
I have experience teaching learners from traditional, progressive, and Montessori schools, as well as homeschooled students, including those following Singapore Math and Science, and learners with special needs. I tailor instruction to each student's profile, background, and learning style, applying differentiated approaches to develop independent thinking, deepen conceptual understanding, and coach students in building effective study habits, time management, self-directed learning, while cultivating a growth mindset. I also instill essential life skills and values such as persistence, resilience, and grit to help them succeed.
