I initially entered the workforce as a software developer, utilizing various programming languages such as VB, C# and Java. I also had an experience in leading a team, building an ETL solution using Pentaho Kettle. After 3 years, I transitioned to the Quality Assurance team and have stayed in that lane for more than 5 years. During those years, I was exposed to different types of testing such as system testing, smoke testing, ad hoc testing and exploratory testing. I also performed mobile testing and browser compatibility testing. I mostly worked on products related to US unemployment insurance, covering eligibility rules and overpayment calculations. I made frequent collaborations with system analysts and developers, to clarify issues and make adjustments to the requirements. Being a QA Analyst with a software development background really gave me a unique perspective on how testing should be approached, and given the opportunity, I am very much excited to put that into action.
