KRIZEN JOHN S. AGRES is a motivated and academically high-achieving graduate of Civil Engineering at Mariano Marcos State University who has been a perennial academic scholar and is increasingly drawn towards research and critical thinking. He was born on 23 November 2002 in the City of Batac, Ilocos Norte. Krizen has always had a profound interest in mathematics, science, and sustainability which informs his career ambitions and like many of his contemporaries, his studies as well.
Graduated as a salutatorian from General Artemio Ricarte Senior High School under the STEM strand, Krizen's performance carried forward into his collegiate studies where he not only retained scholarship status but also took part in research, student leadership, and technical training at the highest levels. His internship with Robinsons Land Corporation, coupled with his attendance to high impact seminars and non-credit classes from other institutions including Stanford, Michigan, and Johns Hopkins, to name a few, illustrates his proactive approach to lifelong learning.
It is not just for the sake of building infrastructure that Krizen pursued civil engineering; he did it in order to build responsibly. At his “core” – in an abstract sense, he would describe himself as a mathematician – a person who is driven by rationality and logic as well as an environmentalist – someone who aims to preserve the balance of nature. This dual identity guides his work and research towards sustainability, systems thinking, and innovation in climate-resilient construction.
Even with his background in the structural sciences, his aim has never changed: to promote sustainable development alongside responsible engineering. In Krizen’s words, engineering should extend beyond cement and metal; it should serve communities while preserving the environment. His advocates for sustainability, backed by attended programs such as “Beyond the SDGs” and “The Sustainability Imperative,” ensures that every project he takes on is equipped with sound ecological principles and social ethics.
In terms of his Professional endeavors, Krizen obtained his Safety Officer 02 Certification on May 2025. Furthermore, he passed the PRC Civil Engineer Licensure Examination on April 2026.
