I've spent the last 5+ years running the technical and operational side of Shopify stores for brands in the US, UK, Australia, Germany, Malaysia, and the UAE. The work covers three things: Shopify development, day to day store operations, and the automation that connects them. I'm equally comfortable writing custom Liquid code, configuring a Shopify Plus B2B setup, or building the Zapier flow that keeps three departments from emailing each other spreadsheets.
On the development side, I build custom themes and sections from Figma, extend existing themes with new features, and handle full store launches from scratch, including multi market and multi currency setups. Recent work includes leading a Shopify Plus B2B migration from SparkLayer to native B2B for CosiG Studiowear, rebuilding companies, catalogs, locations, and pricing from the ground up, and launching their UK storefront from scratch with its own theme, shipping rules, and product catalog.
On the operations side, I run the parts of a Shopify business that don't show up in a portfolio screenshot: product and catalog management, order fulfillment coordination, customer support, shipping logistics, and the marketing execution that keeps campaigns on schedule. I've taken over solo technical ownership of a store after a tea-----------mber left, replaced manual processes with automations, and written the SOPs so non-technical staff could keep things running without me.
Tools I work in daily: Klaviyo, Matrixify, Shopify Flow, GoHighLevel, Rebuy, ShipStation, Gorgias, ReCharge, Loox, -----------, and PageFly, plus Zapier and Make for anything that needs to talk to a system outside Shopify. For AI assisted work, I use Claude Code, ChatGPT, and Google AI Studio to speed up development, QA, and content production.
A few results from recent projects: a new Shopify theme for Big Hammer Wines that raised daily sessions by up to 90% and customer retention by 50%, a WooCommerce to Shopify migration for Relax Bedding Australia covering 100+ products with zero downtime, and a 40% site speed improvement for Janthee Dubai that fed directly into higher conversions.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and have completed academic requirements toward a Master's in IT. Before freelancing full time, I taught IT courses at the college level, which is probably why I still default to writing things down so someone else can follow them later.
I work well with direct communication and clear priorities, and I'd rather tell you what's realistic than what sounds good. If you need someone who can own the technical and operational side of a Shopify store at the same time, that's the role I've been doing for the last several clients.
